A little shy at first but warms up quickly with food/treats, affectionate, cuddly, smart, loyal, gets along with dogs and cats

Rescue Story

Four years ago in Taiwan our rescuer was on her scooter going home from work one afternoon when she spotted a fawn fur puppy strolling against the busy traffic. Our rescuer was sure that the puppy would get in a car accident so she stopped and picked up the puppy to the roadside. But the puppy was naïve with no idea of the dangerous world she lived in so the puppy walked back to the middle of the road. Our rescuer knew she had to take the dog home in order to give the puppy a chance at a better life even though our rescuer already has harboured many strays in her home. Our rescuer named the puppy Shiao Guai meaning little miss obedient denoting how well-behaved the dog has grown up to be. Shiao Guai isn’t interested in cats and is fine with dogs. She’s protective of food towards other dogs so separate feeding is necessary if the household has another dog. She would benefit from basic obedience training and is looking for a moderately active home.

If you are interested in adopting Shiao Guai please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Shiao Guai is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Shiao Guai, for your new addition. There is a $350 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
