Personality:

Affectionate, cuddly, smart, fun loving, loves being with people, loves food and treats. Hei Dou gets along very well with dogs and cats.

Rescue Story

A leg hold trap caught Shiao Chun, Hei Dou’s mother, when she was living on the streets. She was seriously injured and her wound was so deep that you can see her bone. She was sent to an animal hospital for urgent amputation. During the surgery, the hospital found out that Shiao Chun was pregnant, and a couple of days later 8 puppies were delivered.

The puppies are intelligent and well socialized with dogs, cats and people. They are friendly to strangers and know how to sit for treats. Like most puppies, they still need to work on house training and learn manners around the house. Each puppy is looking for a patient and loving family who can provide him/her plenty of exercise and discipline - not easily won over by the puppy’s adorable appearance. Please consider their adoption seriously as it is a lifetime commitment.

Hei Dou has big fluffy ears, a large nose, and an inquisitive/goofy look on his face. He would benefit from basic obedience training to become a well-behaved furry companion.

Hei Dou has up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies shot, de-wormed, micro-chipped, neutered, tested negative for heartworm, screwworm and multiple tick born pathogens. Hei Dou has also passed Idexx 4-in-1 Kit Test.

If you are interested in adopting Hei Dou (Black Bean) please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Hei Dou (Black Bean) is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Hei Dou (Black Bean), for your new addition. There is a $450 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
