Fannie’s previous owner passed away and no one found the elderly lady with Fannie and four other dogs in the apartment until several days later.  One dog died and one went missing.  The building management notified animal control in Taiwan and the agency seized the dogs and transported them to the killing pound.  The deceased owner’s family asked our rescuer for assistance to re-home these dogs. 

Fanny is friendly with everyone including kids but she’s protective of treats towards people so she cannot go to a home with children.  She eats very slowly and most of the time not finishing her kibbles.  She’s not too interested in the food even if you take away her bowl during feeding.  She loves vegetables and fruits.  If her kibbles were mixed with some potatoes she would finish her whole meal.  Fannie likes cats but she would eat their feces and the cat litter so best for her not to go a home with felines.  Fannie is great with dogs in dog parks/out walking but when in her own environment she vies for her human’s attention and would be unfriendly if another dog resides in the same home so she should go to a single dog household.  She’s also protective of food/treats towards other dogs.  She doesn’t like to be groomed (trimming nails and paw furs) or when you put clothes on her.  She would growl in protest but her behaviour can be easily stopped with a firm no.  Fannie has recovered complete from the hip dysplasia surgery.  The vet recommended that her diet to be supplemented with glucosamine to help her joints.  Fannie bonds with people quickly and loves to give kisses.  With proper training and patience, her behavioural issues can be corrected.
