Personality:

Super affectionate, cuddly, loves everyone including strangers. Ryder gets along well with all dogs. He is loyal, fun loving, and food orientated. Ryder knows a few basic commands.

Rescue Story

Ryder and his brother Cotton were both strays in Taiwan. A Good Samaritan fed them regularly. Even though both dogs have a friendly temperament, there are lots of people who find strays intolerable and even abuse them. One day Cotton was found with a severe burn injury below his neck on his back either with hot water or hot oil. The Good Samaritan took Cotton to the animal hospital to receive proper medical attention.

Cotton's burn injury has healed with hair slowly growing back. Ryder was sad after Cotton was taken away and refused to eat and drink for a couple of days. When Ryder was a stray he was often chased and physically threatened with a stick so he is terrified when people wave sticks at him or when they raise their voice at him. We couldn't bear to leave Ryder wandering on the streets so he has been placed in another foster home. Both Cotton and Ryder are waiting for their own angel family to provide them a permanent safe haven.

Ryder is up to date with vaccinations including rabies shot, de-wormed, micro-chipped, neutered, tested negative for heartworm and multiple tick born pathogens. Ryder has also passed Idexx 4-in-1 kit test.

If you are interested in adopting Ryder please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Ryder is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Ryder, for your new addition. There is a $450 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
