Rescue Story

Fay was a stray wondering in a commercial district in Taiwan before our rescuer took her in.  Fay loves to be around people; she has a sweet and easy-going personality.  When she gets too excited around someone, she would nibble at the person’s hands.  This behaviour can be corrected with consistent training but we suggest that she shouldn’t go to a family with young children to prevent from accidents happening.  At night Fay loves to sleep on the bed with her foster mom.  If she’s ignored, she will bark to get her foster mom’s attention.  In a new environment, Fay would feel insecure and wants to run off.  If she’s left alone in the house, she will bark for a few minutes before settling down on her own.

Fay is spayed, up to date with routine shots, micro-chipped, de-wormed (Jan-06-2013, Jan-14-2013) and tested negative for heartworm.

When Fay was first rescued back in October 2012, her spay surgery inadvertently caused internal bleeding so she had to be hospitalized and underwent blood transfusion.  In January 2013 she had three tiny lumps removed from her left buttock, pathology tests revealed that they were benign.  Fay’s left pupil showed colour abnormality so she was sent to an animal hospital to check the intraocular pressure.  She does not have glaucoma but her pupil has no shrinkage reaction to light.  A trip to the eye specialist concluded the colour abnormality may be a result of brain concussion or eye inflammation without having immediate medical attention.  Under some angles of lighting, her eye colour may show some abnormality but her optic nerves are not injured and no treatment was required with her normal vision.

Please consider Fay, for your new addition. There is a $450 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
