Super affectionate, loving, cuddly, friendly to strangers and all dogs, smart, susceptible to training at this young age especially if you have treats, gets along with cats and suitable for family with older children

Rescue Story

As a stray puppy, Miko wondered around a tourist attraction up in the mountains in central Taiwan.  Miko’s mom and dad have been living up there and begging for food from tourists for quite some time.  They had a couple litters of puppies and Miko is the only one survived.  The others were either killed by metal traps, poisoned by people, or hit by cars.

Miko was hit by a car one early morning but luckily a young couple witnessed the accident.  The driver took off right afterwards and left the young puppy in a pile of blood.  The couple rushed Miko to the animal clinic in the city. 

After surgery and proper care, Miko has made a full recovery.  Miko has been given her a clean bill of health with a series of blood tests.   Miko had a few bold spots due to red mange and fungus but are now under control.  The very fine hair has started growing back in those spots.

Miko is playful and energetic: she loves to wrestle with her doggy friends.  Miko is curious about everything and always busy checking things out.  She needs lots of exercise suitable for a family with an active lifestyle.  She is also almost housetrained.  Like most puppies Miko loves to chew.  She can chew anything, from cloth to wood so would be good to have some durable chewing toys for her. 

Miko is so sweet and loyal.  She loves to snuggle with her foster mom on the sofa and would stay next to her while she works on her computer.  She loves to be around people – ideal to go to work with you or be with you while you work at home.

Miko is spayed, has up to date vaccinations including rabies shot, micro-chipped, de-wormed, tested negative for heartworm, multiple tick born pathogens. Miko has also passed Idexx 4-in-1 kit Test.

If you are interested in adopting Miko please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Miko is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand.  Please consider Miko, for your new addition. There is a $350 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
