Kay is a smart girl!  She learns quickly and loves treats.

She would be your little shadow when you are at home.  If you have houseguests, she would be watchful of them at first but warms up by asking people to pat her.  She has an odd quirk: when you get ready to take her out she would run away and hide but once she’s in a dog park she runs around happily.

Rescue Story

As puppies, Kay and her siblings were found living in a remote mountain area in Taiwan.  Our rescuer fed them periodically but she couldn't bear to see them grew up as strays so she took them in hoping to find a home for each of them.  Soon afterwards Kay's siblings were adopted to Vancouver and Seattle.  That was four years ago and Kay is still waiting for her special family.

Kay has such a gentle disposition.  She loves to cuddle and to give kisses.  At night she likes to sleep on the bed with her foster mom hiding under the blankets. The foster mom can no longer pick up her because of her size, but Kay still thinks she's a lap dog.

Kay gets along with dogs and cats as she's currently fostering with many.  She is a black Formosan Mountain Dog Mixed - an unpopular breed in Taiwan.  The chances of Kay being able to find her own home in Taiwan are minimal.  She longs to have her own forever loving home and someone she can love unconditionally.

If you are interested in adopting Kay please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Kay is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand.  Please consider Kay, for your new addition. There is a $400 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
