Personality:

Affectionate, cuddly, calm, smart, loves being with people, loves food and treats. A little shy when meeting strangers but warms up very quickly if you have treats in your hand. Shiao Chun gets along very well with dogs and cats.

Rescue Story

A leg hold trap caught Shiao Chun when she was living on the streets. She was seriously injured and her wound was so deep that you can see her bone. She was sent to an animal hospital for urgent amputation. During the surgery, the hospital found out that Shiao Chun was pregnant, and a couple of days later 8 puppies were delivered. Shiao Chun was very good at being a mom; she was responsible and took good care of her babies. She trusts humans to hold and pet her puppies. Shiao Chun is friendly to people and likes being petted herself as well. She is also very independent and laid back. Now that her puppies have grown she prefers to relax on the sofa. The three-legged Shiao Chun had suffered terribly before being rescued. Shiao Chun deserves a forever home with love and happiness for the rest of her life to blossom like the Spring (her Mandarin name).

Shiao Chun has up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies shot, de-wormed, micro-chipped, spayed, tested negative for heartworm, screwworm and multiple tick born pathogens. Shiao Chun has also passed Idexx 4-in-1 Kit Test.

If you are interested in adopting Shiao Chun please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Shiao Chun is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Shiao Chun, for your new addition. There is a $300 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
