Formosan Mountain Dog and Terrier Mix (best guess, suggestions welcome)

Personality:

Affectionate, cuddly, smart, fun loving, loves being with people, loves food and treats. Chou Tou gets along very well with dogs and cats.

Rescue Story

A leg hold trap caught Shiao Chun, Chou Tou’s mother, when she was living on the street. She was seriously injured and her wound was so deep that you can see her bone. She was sent to an animal hospital for urgent amputation. During the surgery, the hospital found out that Shiao Chun was pregnant, and a couple of days after 8 puppies were delivered. Shiao Chun was very good at being a mom; she was responsible and took good care of her babies. She trusts the humans that you can hold and pet her puppies. Shiao Chun is friendly to people and likes being petted herself. She is also very independent and laid back. Now that her puppies have grown she prefers to relax on the sofa. The three-legged Shiao Chun had suffered terribly before being rescued. Shiao Chun deserves a forever home with love and happiness for the rest of her life.

The puppies are intelligent and well socialized with dogs, cats and people. They are friendly to strangers and know how to sit for treats. Like most puppies, they still need to work on house training.

Each puppy is looking for a patient and loving family who can provide him/her plenty of exercise and discipline - not easily won over by the puppies’ adorable appearance. Please consider their adoption seriously as it is a lifetime commitment.

Chou Tou has up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies shot, de-wormed, micro-chipped, neutered, tested negative for heartworm, screwworm and multiple tick born pathogens. Chou Tou has also passed Idexx 4-in-1 Kit Test.

If you are interested in adopting Chou Tou (Stinking Head) please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Chou Tou (Stinking Head) is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Chou Tou (Stinking Head), for your new addition. There is a $450 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
