Super affectionate, cuddly, loves to snuggle with people including strangers, gets along with dogs and cats, loves treats, obedient and fun loving.

Rescue Story

It was impossible to miss Yong, a 73lbs male Labrador Retriever, roaming on the streets in Taiwan by himself.

Yong was smelly and filthy. His rescuers followed him to where he slept. They were shocked when they saw Yong's food dishes, a moldy and stinky paper box and a water bowl full of moss.

His sleeping area was dirty and infested with cockroaches and rats running around on an old blanket looked like someone tried to make a bed for Yong. People who fed him on the streets said his previous owner died and/or alleged owner neglected him and left him on the streets begging for leftover food. Either scenarios cannot be verified because no one came forward and took responsibility for the dog’s well being.

Yong's rescuers were worried about hematoma on one of Yong’s ears so they sent Yong to an animal clinic for a thorough health check and for the ear surgery.

Poor Yong was tested positive for heartworm and Canine Babesia which are common blood transmitted parasitic diseases in Taiwan. After Yong was treated for these parasites, he was then neutered and completed all of his vaccinations. He is now 88lbs and a very handsome and healthy Labrador Retriever. Yong has a great temperament and gets along well with all dogs and cats. Yong is strong and he loves to approach you for attention by nudging and butting you. The foster mom almost fell at times so we don’t recommend Yong go to a family with young kids or seniors for safety reasons.

Yong has up to date vaccinations including rabies shot, de-wormed, micro-chipped, neutered. He was tested positive for heartworm and Canine Babesia. After treatment, Yong has passed his PCR re-test. Please refer to his final PCR test report below.

If you are interested in adopting Yong please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Yong is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Yong, for your new addition. There is a $400 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
