Our rescuer first saw Tracy in an animal clinic where she was recovering from a bloody diarrhea.  Tracy was captured through TNR (Trap Neuter Release) initiatives by women who are concerned with animal welfare in Taiwan.  These volunteers who care for stray cats and dogs are known as kind surrogate mothers.  Tracy was scheduled to be spayed and then released back onto the streets.  The kind surrogate who took Tracy off the streets appealed to our rescuer that she didn’t want to release the puppy back onto the streets and eventually end up in a high kill shelter to die.  So our rescuer decided to foster Tracy and continue her socialization with people in the hopes of finding her own forever loving home some day.  Tracy is wary of new people and would try to hide at first.  But once she bonds with her human especially through feeding/food, she warms up very quickly and would approach on her own for attention.  She’s playful with other dogs but is protective of her food.  She would growl to warn off other dogs.  If the adoption family has another dog she would settle in faster but would have to be fed separately.  We hope to find Tracy a patient family who will help her build confidence and continue socialization with people.
