Rescue Story

Polar Bear along with her sibling Black Bear was abandoned in a remote mountain area back in October 2009. Our rescuer found the two puppies starving so she fed them in an ongoing basis up on the mountain. Even though their size may be intimidating, they have such sweet gentle temperament. On February 10^th 2011, our rescuer found Polar Bear and Black Bear wandering on the streets in the city centre quite a distance from the remote mountain area where they met. They were probably looking for our rescuer so our rescuer asked her friend to transport the two dogs to her place for foster care. Black Bear was adopted to Port Moody BC last year. X-rays of Polar Bear showed abnormality. The veterinarian who examined the X-rays postulated that the abnormality may be bone spurs, in the long-term could lead to paralysis. Our rescuer took Polar Bear to have a CT Scan. The CT Scan diagnosis revealed that the abnormality could be a genetic mutation or as a result from an unknown injury when she was a puppy. The veterinarian concluded that Polar Bear does not have bone spurs. Polar Bear is still looking for her own forever loving home. Can you provide Polar Bear the opportunity to one day reunite with her sister?

If you are interested in adopting Polar Bear please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please consider Polar Bear, for your new addition. There is a $400 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
