Rescue Story

Bowen was found wandering in a university-based community. He appeared to be lost and looking for someone. He remained distant to our rescuer when she approached him. Our rescuer appealed to a bystander for assistance who kneeled down and called out for the dog. Surprisingly, without any hesitation, Bowen went straight into the arms of this young man as if seeking refuge and solace. Perhaps he was abandoned by a young male student. Bowen was timid to our rescuer at first but after settling in he came out of his shell. Based on observation, he usually takes about half of a day to warm up to strangers. He can be left home alone with no separation anxiety or chewing issue, is playful with dogs, and gentle with young children. He has a medium energy level and loves to go out for walks. Bowen is smart and would benefit from some basic obedience training.

If you are interested in adopting Bowen please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Bowen is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand. Please consider Bowen, for your new addition. There is a $400 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
