Rescue Story

A young girl found Doris wandering in an elementary school so she brought the dog in to an animal hospital for a microchip scan.  Doris was in heat at the time, fearing from attacks by male stray dogs and giving litters of unwanted puppies, the vet decided to spay Doris and to help her find a forever home. 

 

Doris is a social butterfly who loves to be petted and cuddled.  She still retains some puppy behaviours like chewing, mouthing, and jumping up when excited.  She’s looking for a patient and active family who can provide proper chewing toys like a treats stuffed Kong, plenty of outdoor activities, continuous socialization, and housetraining.

  

Puppies have more energy than mature adult dogs and can be destructive if not supervised.  They require LOTS of companionship, exercises, training, and socialization.  Please think twice and discuss with your family members if a puppy is a good fit for you.   An appropriate match is the key to a successful adoption and is what our volunteers aim for when reviewing your application.  Please read the dog’s bio and watch the videos carefully with your family members before filling out an application form.

If you are interested in adopting Doris please fill out an application. We will ask for pictures of your current pets (if any) and your house inside and outside upon receipt of your application.

Please note Doris is part of our international rescue efforts and will be flown to the Lower Mainland (YVR) Vancouver International Airport on the next transport ONLY if a permanent home can be found beforehand.  Please consider Doris, for your new addition. There is a $400 adoption fee (bank deposit and e-transfer only) which goes to help cover only a portion of each dog's medical and transport expenses. A home check will also be required because we do want to be sure that each dog goes to an environment suited to them. Please note that we don't have shelter facility in Canada, so please consider carefully again before this adoption.
